  10.        It is important to note that as of _r_e_l_e_a_s_e _5._0 (shipped with
  11.        IRIX 6.5.17), the tools and processes available in the
  12.        InSight product family can no longer read the older format
  13.        of the books (pre-IRIX 6.5.17). Many of the tools
  14.        (_i_n_s_i_g_h_t_A_d_m_i_n, _s_g_i_h_e_l_p, _i_n_f_o_s_e_a_r_c_h) will produce a warning
  15.        that identifies these "older" books and indicates that they
  16.        need to be updated or converted.  Information on converting
  17.        "older" books to the newer format is documented in "Chapter
  18.        2 - Converting Older Format Books", a part of these release
  19.        notes.

  21.        Overall product changes:
  22.  
  23.           +o The IRIS InSight Viewer and the Dynaweb product
  24.             (dynaweb.sw.eoe) are no longer required and have been
  25.             discontinued.  The "insight" application exists solely
  26.             as a process that launches InfoSearch.
  27.  
  28.           +o Online books are now delivered in HTML format - derived
  29.             from XML through our publishing process. These same
  30.             tools are available for you to use as part of the
  31.             _i_n_s_i_g_h_t__d_e_v (SGI Book Building Tools) product.

  33.           +o Books can now be read/browsed using a standard web
  34.             browser.  See "Chapter 2 - Reading Online Books" in
  35.             these release notes for details.

  37.           +o For additional information pertaining to the online
  38.             documentation capabilities of your SGI system, please
  39.             consult the _i_n_s_i_g_h_t__b_a_s_e and _i_n_f_o_s_e_a_r_c_h release notes.

  41.        SGIHelp has the following _n_e_w features:

  43.           +o SGIHelp now uses an instance of the WebViewer library
  44.             (webviewer.sw.eoe), which allows it to view HTML "help"
  45.             books/pages directly, without having to launch an
  46.             external web browser, such as netscape.
  47.  
  48.           +o Along with the ability to view HTML "help" books,
  49.             SGIHelp has undergone a user interface redesign. No
  50.             longer are there 2 distinct windows (previously called
  51.             the "Index" window and the "Viewer" window). Instead
  52.             these have been collapsed into one window, with the use
  53.             of panes and other controls.

  55.           +o The ability to find and browse through the applications
  56.             or products that have Help available on the system
  57.             (File -> Available Application/Product Help).

  78.             to keep one help card/page "static", while utilizing
  79.             the main window to continue to navigate amongst other
  80.             help cards/pages.

  82.           +o An expanded print function; allowing a user to print
  83.             the entire set of help cards/pages for an application.

  85.           +o Better navigation controls, including back/forward
  86.             arrows and a "quick-help" status line (which can be
  87.             turned "on" or "off" under the Options menu).
