  10.        The changes to the InfoSearch product since release 4.0 are
  11.        as follows:

  13.           +o Localized (non-English language) books can now be
  14.             searched/browsed. See Chapter 2 - "InfoSearch and
  15.             Localized Books" for details.

  17.           +o Query parsing is more restrictive, creating an "AND"
  18.             condition between terms that are entered with just a
  19.             space between them (and no boolean logic applied by the
  20.             user). If no hits are found, the search will be
  21.             performed again with an "OR" condition used.

  23.           +o Added "collapse book hits" checkbox. When multiple hits
  24.             (chapters) are found when a search is applied to the
  25.             "Online Books" database, this will limit the search
  26.             result to display 1 hit per book - the hit that is
  27.             deemed most relevant for that book.

  29.           +o Improved error checking and reporting.

  32.        The changes to the InfoSearch product since release 3.1 are

  35.           +o Some UI design changes: streamlined display, allow for
  36.             selection and searching of content types.

  38.           +o Faster loading of book content (display).

  40.           +o Removed the server-side parsed HTML (".shtml") file
  41.             (used a redirect within the index.html file instead).

  43.           +o Directory layout clean-up; less stored in "document
  44.             root".

  46.           +o With release 4.0, non-English language books can be
  47.             browsed and viewed (but not searched). As of release
  48.             4.1, this has been fixed.

  74.           +o As of release 3.x and beyond, the InfoSearch "client"
  75.             is a process that simply launches your desktop web-
  76.             browser (as specified in the Toolchest -> Desktop ->
  77.             Customize -> Utilities panel).

  80.             For example, a web browser such as _n_e_t_s_c_a_p_e(1) is used
  81.             to contact an available InfoSearch "server". Point your
  82.             browser at the requested server URL; such as:
  83.             http://<hostname>/infosearch/.  Substitute the name of
  84.             the server containing InfoSearch content for
  85.             <hostname>.

  87.           +o Major UI cleanup and redesign.

  89.           +o Improved navigation; searching and browsing are now
  90.             combined.
