  199.        All of the subsystems for CaseVision, WorkShop, ProDev and
  200.        FLEXlm can be installed using IRIX. You do not need to use
  201.        the miniroot. Refer to the _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e
  202.        for complete installation instructions.

  204.        2.4  _P_r_e_r_e_q_u_i_s_i_t_e_s
  205.  
  206.        You must be running IRIX 6.2 or later and MIPSpro 7.2
  207.        compilers to run version 2.6.5 of this product, and you must
  208.        have installed the ToolTalk execution environment
  209.        (_t_o_o_l_t_a_l_k__e_o_e._s_w), the X11 Execution environment
  210.        (_x__e_o_e._s_w._e_o_e), the Motif Execution environment
  211.        (_m_o_t_i_f__e_o_e._s_w._e_o_e), the Desktop Filetype Rules
  212.        (_d_e_s_k_t_o_p__b_a_s_e._s_w._F_i_l_e_T_y_p_i_n_g_R_u_l_e_s) and the Desktop Shared
  213.        Libraries (_d_e_s_k_t_o_p__b_a_s_e._s_w._d_s_o). WorkShop also requires the
  214.        use of an ICCCM compliant window manager, for example  _4_D_w_m,
  215.        _m_w_m, or _t_w_m.

  217.        2.5  _R_e_q_u_i_r_e_d__P_a_t_c_h_e_s

  219.        The following patches are required to run WorkShop.  These
  220.        patches should be included on the product CD.   For the
  221.        latest SGI Operating system patches or any patches not
  222.        supplied on the product CD, please contact Customer Support.

  232.        Tracker nor WorkShop can be running when installing the
  233.        newest version of WorkShop software.  If Tracker or WorkShop
  234.        are running during the install, no new applications can be
  235.        started.  You will have to exit out and kill pcsd.

  237.        You must have Insight installed to view the online books.
  238.  
  239.        WorkShop requires the installation of the CaseVision

  279.        configured with color scheme files (located in
  280.        /_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_X_1_1/_s_c_h_e_m_e_s) installed by _C_a_s_e_V_i_s_i_o_n._s_w._s_c_h_e_m_e_s and
  281.        app-defaults files (located in /_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_X_1_1/_a_p_p-_d_e_f_a_u_l_t_s).
  282.        Under normal circumstances, you do not have to modify either
  283.        of these sets of files.

  285.        You may configure your colors by using the scheme browser in
  286.        the toolchest to preview and specify your scheme choice.  If
  287.        you have recently upgraded to Irix 5.3 or later, you will
  288.        want to remove the "*scheme:  <name>" entry in your
  289.        .Xdefaults file (if you had one) prior to using the scheme

  293.        2.6.2  _W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p__T_e_s_t_e_r  WorkShop Tester is configured with a
  294.        default instrumentation file (located in
  295.        /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p/_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p/_T_e_s_t_e_r/_d_e_f_a_u_l_t__i_n_s_t_r__f_i_l_e).
  296.        This is used to set up default criteria for instrumenting
  297.        your program for test coverage counting and tracing.  Under
  298.        normal circumstances, you do not have to modify this file.

  302.        Because WorkShop is rather large and space under /_u_s_r is
  303.        usually tight, WorkShop uses an installation architecture
  304.        that makes it easy to relocate the bulk of the installed
  305.        files to directories that have extra space.  All the
  306.        WorkShop files (except the man pages, the demos, and the
  307.        books) are installed under the directory /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p, then

  395.        These commands link the /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p directory to the
  396.        /_d_i_s_k_3 disk, where there is enough space to hold the files.
  397.        The files are then installed on /_d_i_s_k_3 and the
  398.        _W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p._s_w._l_i_n_k_s subsystems install links pointing to those
  399.        files from /_u_s_r.

  401.        Please note that if you previously had had WorkShop
  402.        installed, then a directory called /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p would have
  403.        already existed and the above _l_n -_s command would produce a
  404.        link called /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p.  Since this is
  405.        undesireable, you should first uninstall all WorkShop
  406.        images, then _r_m -_r_f /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p to remove any leftover
  407.        files before executing the _l_n -_s command.

  409.        In another example, if you want to install WorkShop on a
  410.        file server and have users mount the software from there,
  411.        first install the software on the server as usual:

  418.        the WorkShop links subsystems, and optionally, the demos,
  419.        man pages and books subsystem:
