  1. FrameMaker display control file for Sun workstations.

  3. The settings in this file do not affect items drawn in 
  4. FrameMaker's dialog boxes, menus, or catalogs.
  5. They affect only the drawing of document windows.
  6. These settings allow users to compensate for the 
  7. relatively smaller pixels on high-resolution screens 
  8. by increasing the dpi values in this file. If the display 
  9. size (in pixels) is larger than the size given here, FrameMaker 
  10. uses the HiRes values below; otherwise it uses the StdRes 
  11. values. (1152, 900) is the size of the standard Sun display.

  15.     NOTE: FrameMaker uses a few precomputed screen 
  16.     fonts (in point sizes 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 18, and 24); all other 
  17.     sizes must be computed on demand. However, the dynamically 
  18.     generated fonts are somewhat slower to create, and less 
  19.     attractive on the screen, than the precomputed fonts. (This has 
  20.     no bearing on the quality of the printed output; it's an issue 
  21.     only for displaying on the screen.) As a result, the settings 
  22.     in this file were chosen to maximize the number of screen fonts 
  23.     that FrameMaker can use.

  25. Standard Sun-3 (TM) screens are about 72 dots (pixels) 
  26. per inch both horizontally and vertically. 
  27. HandleSize (the size of an object handle) and 
  28. HandleHotZone (the size of the "hot zone" around a handle) 
  29. are expressed in pixels.
