- This directory contains a small assortment of Macintosh software.
-
- The file "maccdrom.hfv" is an HFV file. HFV files are virtual
- macintosh volumes (disk drives). From Linux's perspective each HFV is
- a single file, but Executor knows how to store Macintosh files and
- folders within HFV files. Executor is programmed to automatically
- mount maccdrom.hfv the same way that Executor will mount a Macintosh
- formatted CD-ROM.
-
- The software in maccdrom.hfv is of one of three categories:
-
- freeware -- software that you can run without being expected
- to pay a fee
-
- demoware -- limited functionality software that you can use to
- evaluate whether or not you want to buy the
- full-featured version
- and
-
- shareware -- software whose copyright and licensing conditions
- allow you to use for a short evaluation period
- on the condition that you pay the author a fee if
- you continue to use it after the evaluation period.
-
- The three subdirectories: freeware, demoware and shareware provide an
- alternate way of accessing the software that is contained in
- maccdrom.hfv. Each of the those three subdirectories contain software
- both in "HQX".
-
- ARDI has *NOT* paid the shareware fees for the shareware that is on
- this CD-ROM (in the shareware section of maccdrom.hfv and in the
- shareware subdirectory). You are expected to read the documentation
- for the shareware included on this CD-ROM and satisfy the shareware
- terms if you continue to use the shareware. You do not need to pay
- anything to use the freeware or demoware.
