  17. In theory they both should work.  ELF is just a newer (and better) way
  18. of laying out object binaries.  Of course if you try a.out and that
  19. works, while the ELF version still crashes, that would tell us
  20. something.

  24. The only difference other than the layout of the binary is that under
  25. ELF we wind up laying out memory differently than under a.out.  That
  26. shouldn't cause a crash, and I believe a lot of people are using
  27. E/L/ELF already.

  46. Thanks for the tips.  We'll be changing the installation description
  47. part of the manual before E2 ships.  As you point out, it currently
  48. assumes too much.

  55. We have a copy of Preview II here, although we never installed it
  56. after playing with Preview I.  We've been talking to Caldera about
  57. working closer together, but there are currently some sticking points
  58. that have forced further discussions into the post-E2 timeline.  Now
  59. that MacHack and our first meeting at Apple are done, I hope to stay
  60. in Albuquerque until E2 has been mastered and is sent off to be
  61. duplicated.
