  20. If you can provide the exact error message, that will help.  If you
  21. can tell us where we can download a demo version (if one is available)
  22. that will help more.  Were you putting the programs that you were
  23. trying to run into an HFV, or running them off the DOS filesystem?
  24. When we map to DOS there are some things that might not work properly,
  25. so HFVs are usually better.

  31. Although I'd like every program to work, the installer for something
  32. that can't work is not too high of a priority.  Of course I'd always
  33. like more information than "the installer ... dies".

  38. Using Scitech Display Doctor (formerly known as UniVBE) should make it
  39. work much faster, although you'll need to restart in DOS mode.  The
  40. choppiness is due to the frame buffer not being linearly mapped.

  54. Sometimes programs come in two flavors, one requiring an FPU, one not.
  55. I know Swivel-3D is like this.  In Swivel-3D's case you can use the
  56. non-FPU version fine.

  64. Aha.  If you say "executor > crashmsg" then when Executor dies the
  65. crash message will be saved in the file "crashmsg".  That infomation
  66. can be very useful.

  72. My recollection was that you had already licensed a copy of Executor.
  73. If that's the case then when E2 comes out you'll get the E2 CD-ROM and
  74. as long as you're only using it in one place at a time (and you make
  75. sure people don't copy it), you can take it to work and fiddle around
  76. with it there.
