  3. Our laptop that we used to run Windows '95 and OS/2 on was stolen a
  4. few weeks ago.  We haven't yet had the insurance settled so of late
  5. we've been doing without.  As such, I have a question:

  7. Does Windows '95 come with MSCDEX?
  8.  
  9. Right now it's necessary for many people to boot Windows '95 in DOS
  10. mode and use MSCDEX in order to access Mac CD-ROMs.  When we do a
  11. native Win32 port this won't be necessary, but we're really concerned
  12. that people buying new systems that come with Windows '95 preinstalled
  13. won't have MSCDEX.

  15. If anyone knows the answer to this, please respond to the Executor
  16. Interest mailing list or to comp.emulators.mac.executor (no need to do
  17. both, a bi-directional gateway links them).  Please *don't* send me
  18. personal e-mail with the answer, since answering publicly will allow
  19. other people to correct subtle mistakes that your reply might have and
  20. will also serve to let people know that we've had enough replies.
