- I have a Trident 9440Agi /w 1 MB of ram. Using Univbe 5.2, executor
- 1.99q12 and 2.0 beta 1, in Dos.
-
- I do not have the problem's that you are describing. I do have other ones
- though.
-
- First I only could get 640x400 max resolution. I was able to fix this by
- using the -vga switch ( was very slow). Another way to fix it was to
- check the box 8-bit in low resolution mode support in the configuration
- options window.
-
- Both resolutions have a white border around executor's screen. This can
- only be fixed when I totally disable Univbe 5.2
-
- Univbe actually slows down executor!! (sort of)
-
- Without univbe I get 680 fps in globe on my P75
- With univbe I get 630 fps.
-
- When I use speedometer 3.23 all of my results are the same except for
- Color QuickDraw.
-
- Again without univbe I average 3.728
- And with univbe I average 2.798
-
- The only good thing about Univbe is I do not need to set refresh on
- programs that don't use Quickdraw. The end result is my programs run just
- as fast when I do something like refresh 3 as when I use Univbe. Univbe
- makes programs run smoother.
-
- I have also noticed slowdown using univbe with virtual pool. Flickering
- in duke3d 800x600. Only Quake test demo appears to have a 2 fps
- performance gain.
-
- I have tried changing the framebuffer address (default 4088MB), adding
- X=C000-CFFF to Emm386.exe, changing several display doctor options, and
- trying several executor -switches. Not to mention several combos of them
- all.
-
- If there is a solution or anyone else has better luck let me know.
-
- Thanks,
-
