  14. Sounds to me like you have an interrupt conflict somewhere....
  15. This used to happen to me when I had both my modem and my scanner sharing
  16. the
  17. same interrupt. If I used the modem, it would turn on the scanner.

  22. Well, it's always worth checking one last time--its just that this system
  23. has been so well documented in its IRQs, DMS, Port addresses, etc. to
  24. avoid such things that it seems unlikely--but I'll check it again, anyway.
  25. The scanner card can optionally use an IRQ & DMA but none are required by
  26. the software I'm using for successful operation. I haven't seen the docs
  27. for the scanner in eons... not since '89?--I think.
