- Executor has never been good at foreign keyboards, but I'm not sure that
- Americans realise how bad it is. We're using executor for Linux/X,
- and we have a Danish keyboard which works fine in X. For example, the
- key next to L is ˘, and when I press that key, I get an ˘ in most
- applications. In executor, however, nothing happens. Normally, I can
- find the Danish characters using the AltGr key, but that is really
- slow.
-
- Let me demonstrate:
-
- In X, our keyboard normally looks like this:
-
- §!"#$%&/()=?`
- ‰1234567890+'
- QWERTYUIOP¯^
- qwertyuiopï"
- ASDFGHJKL˘ã
- asdfghjklðł
- ZXCVBNM;:_
- zxcvbnm,.-
- > *
- < '
-
-
- Using Executor without any option, it looks like this:
-
- !@#$%^&*()+"
- 1234567890='
- QWERTYUIOP?
- qwertyuiop/
- ASDFGHJKL
- asdfghjkl
- ZXCVBNM<>_
- zxcvbnm,.-
- < "
- , '
-
- As you see, the keys on the right side of L produce no output.
-
- And using Executor with the -keyboard Dansk switch, we get:
-
- !"#Ù%&/()=ã`
- 1234567890łÁ
- QWERTYUIOP_
- qwertyuiop-
- ASDFGHJKL
- asdfghjkl
- ZXCVBNM;:?
- zxcvbnm,.+
- ; ã
- , ł
-
-
- Now we get ã in some places, but not where we want it--the keys next
- to L still produce no output whatsoever. This is really bad!
-
- What I would really like is executor just using the character produced
- by the keys, instead of doing nifty keycode things (as I suppose it
- does now). Please, ARDI, we've paid for this program!
