  1. Despite the similarity in names, the late MagicSac cartridge and the 
  2. current MagiCMac ST-emulation software are unrelated.

  4. MagicSac was a cartridge for the Atari ST that emulated a Mac+ (so long 
  5. as you provided the Mac ROMS).  It evolved into the much-improved 
  6. Spectre:GCR, which worked with the Mac OS up through System 6.0 (I 
  7. think).  It was produced by David Small's firm Gadgets by Small, now 
  8. defunct.

  10. MagicMac is a software ST emulator that runs on current Macs.  It's based 
  11. on the MagiC operating system for the Atari ST.  I have no experience 
  12. with it myself, but from the very active discussion of it on 
  13. comp.sys.atari.st, I'd say it seems to work pretty well. (There WERE, 
  14. however, problems with the demo that was available for awhile.)
