  2. Here is what may be a stupid question about memory use under
  3. Executor.  I'm probably just missing something simple but 
  4. maybe someone can help me understand what is happening.

  6. I run executor under DOS 6.2 on a machine with "8 megs" of 
  7. ram.  For testing, I turn off any disk cashing by SMARTDRV.
  8. The DOS mem command says:
  9.         Total    Used    Free
  10. Conventional    640    46    594
  11. Upper        0    0    0
  12. Reserved    128    128    0
  13. XMS        7424    64    7360

  16. I do an executor -info command and executor reports:

  18.     5.43 Meg of Potentially useful DPMI Memory
  19.     and assigns the memory as follows:
  20.     applzone    2.71 Meg
  21.     syszone        0.5  Meg
  22.     Stack        0.25 Meg
  23. I presume this all comes out of the 5.43 total it found.

  25. What happened to all the rest of the memory?  Is Executor
  26. itself using it?  That's 1.7 Meg and 5.43 + 1.7 still only
  27. adds up to 7.13.  It would seem there should be a total
  28. memory of 7.36 M + 594 K unused and available.
