  10. I suspect some program you're running is being a little too nosy and
  11. is looking at those files.  Just doing a directory scan shouldn't
  12. result in the creation of any '%' files, but when a file is opened as
  13. a Mac file the '%' file is created.  Ugly, but hard to avoid.
