  11. I have noticed the slow spell checking too.  It was even slow for me when 
  12. I was running Word5 on a real Mac (I had a Classic; well, that is 
  13. understandable, but it was also slow for me on the IIsi I bought later).

  15. When I was using it on the Mac, I was able to get it to run faster (at 
  16. the expense of a feature) by turning off "Always suggest correct 
  17. spellings" (or whatever) in the Spelling "control panel".  I did this 
  18. because I know how to spell and usually make errors like "Teh" instead of 
  19. "The", which is obvious enough that I don't need it to suggest a correct 
  20. spelling.  When I run into a tricky word, like "ornithology" I can then 
  21. hit the "Suggest" button to have it make a suggestion.

  23. I'd like to do this under Executor, the only problem is that (apparently) 
  24. any changes I make to the Spelling preferences DO NOT GET SAVED!!  Which 
  25. is pretty odd, don't you think?

  27. I also cannot use Custom dictionaries.  They just don't work, for some 
  28. reason.

  30. Are you aware of this, ARDI (or other Executor people)?  Any 
  31. workarounds/fixes in the works?
