- I took the plunge, and bought my first piece of Mac software for Executor.
- Quicken 6. According to all reports I gathered, it is reported to work (for
- the most part) under Executor, the only known problem being with the Reports
- and Graphs feature (which I don't use that often, to be honest, so big deal).
- Even teh installer (based on StuffIt technology) was reported to work fine.
-
- Unfortunately, the software failed to install for me, either in the DOS or
- Linux version of Executor.
-
- Basically, I get up to the point where I am offered the choice of Easy or
- Custom Install. (It didn't even work up to then, until I set the Installer's
- preferences to show system 7.0 and enable System 7 spoofing). When I click
- on "Install", the program crashes -- no error messages in Executor, nothing;
- the Executor application closes and returns me to the DOS prompt (under DOS),
- and the Executor window just disappears from my X11 desktop (under Linux).
-
- Under Linux, I simply get a "Segmentation fault" error from UNIX itself.
- Under DOS, however, I do get some traceback information, which I have
- attached to this message.
-
- I have tried this under 1.99q6, and also under 1.99q9 (which I just upgraded
- to) under both platforms, with no luck.
-
- This is just the STANDARD Quicken 6 for Macintosh, on 3.5" HD disks. This is
- NOT the Quicken "Deluxe" or CD-ROM or any other fancy thing.
-
- Please help -- I'd really like to get this working. Thanks!!!
