  16. wasn't deliberately exaggerated, but it was exaggerated nevertheless.

  25. I'll let readers of Joe's and my posts evaluate our claims on their
  26. own.  I'll won't post endless followups, but when I see an inaccurate
  27. depiction of Executor presented, I'll try to correct it.  I'll do so
  28. when Executor is portrayed as being able to do more than it currently
  29. can, just like I'll do so when it is portrayed as being less able than
  30. it is.  I'll always try to present correct information, but when I
  31. make a mistake, I'll even correct my own portrayals of Executor.

  33. There's a tendency to fight exaggerated claims with exaggerated
  34. claims, based on the assumption that every reader is going to apply
  35. "reality filters" to all claims made by anyone with a vested interest
  36. in a product.  Under that assumption, if you don't exaggerate going
  37. into the filters the readership will see an attenuated set of claims
  38. after they discount for bias.

  40. Not only do I think that such tactics are unethical, I don't think
  41. they work well in the long run.  They encourage mimicry by both
  42. opponents and supporters.  I'll stick to calling things as I see them
  43. and trying hard to see them as they are.  I'm glad that the vast
  44. majority of Executor supporters are doing the same.
