  30. Many programs that require System 7 now run under Executor, although
  31. the other limitations mentioned above are still there.  We who make
  32. Executor do not try to mislead potential customers.  We list
  33. limitations, we have a demo version so people can test the software
  34. for themselves and we have a 30-day money back guarantee just in case
  35. any mistakes are made.

  41. SoftWindows will not help John O-Rourke.  SoftWindows runs absolutely
  42. no Macintosh software (except when SoftWindows is running Executor).

  44. Executor is useful to some people, and it's less useful or even
  45. useless to others.

  47. Technically Executor is a significantly more complicated undertaking
  48. than SoftWindows, because we do not use any of Apple's software in
  49. order to get Mac programs to run.  In fact, we haven't even
  50. disassembled any of Apple's ROMs or System file in order to achieve
  51. what we've done so far.

  53. Insignia licenses Microsoft's OS's (DOS, Windows) and that is why they
  54. have a higher degree of compatibility.  Even with that, for a long
  55. time SoftWindows did not run programs that required 386 enhanced mode
  56. -- back then it was useful to some people but not others, presumably
  57. that's still the case, although with 386 enhanced emulation,
  58. SoftWindows is now useful to more people.

  60. Executor is also significantly faster than SoftWindows; Executor is so
  61. fast that if you're replacing a 68k based Mac with a Pentium, your
  62. compute bound applications are likely to run faster (if they run) on
  63. the Pentium running Executor than they would on the 68k based Mac.

  111.     I happen to use Executor a lot, and have found almost all 
  112. programs I use run very nicely on it (though Appletalk would be nice).
  113. I would say it's far more than a joke, it's a very good, and getting 
  114. better, program.
