- ftp://ftp.ardi.com/pub/BleedingEdge contains subdirectories for DOS,
- Linux and NEXTSTEP, each of which has a file that can patch 1.99q to
- 1.99q5.
-
- ftp://vorlon.mit.edu/pub/ardi/BleedingEdge should soon have all the
- new patches. The other mirrors will probably take a day or two to
- catch up.
-
- It turns out that 1.99q2 broke many applications, including Risk and
- Excel 4's charting ability. 1.99q5 fixes this and a few other
- regressions. Quicken 6 is also now limping.
-
- There are a few other bug-fixes thrown in, but this update is by no
- means supposed to rectify most of the bugs we've heard about recently.
- Some of the fixes that I can remember are: Bachman works;
- Executor/Linux no longer consumes all the CPU time when the Mac
- program is idle (Executor/NEXTSTEP still does, though) and Tex-Edit's
- printed output is no longer clipped to the top two thirds of the page.
-
- It may appear like we're not being particularly responsive of late,
- but that's because we're tied up with two major undertakings: fixing
- the floppy disk problems under Executor/DOS and putting together the
- layout of our first beta CD-ROMs. Once we start getting beta CD-ROMs
- out the door we'll go back to trying to fix bugs a little quicker
- (although we'll probably be presented with still more bugs -- it's a
- tough battle we're fighting).
-
- As always, thanks for your patience.
