  12. As a matter of principle, I suppose I approve:  now that you are
  13. making Executor available to the DOS world, you can no longer
  14. make the cozy assumption that none of your users are pond scum.
  15. It rankles that we users (as a group) can no longer be trusted,
  16. but I would rather swallow this unpalatable truth than see you
  17. get ripped off.

  19. As a practical matter, this is going to be a pain in the neck
  20. for at least a few of your old NeXTstep customers---those like
  21. me who haven't yet gotten around to buying CD-ROM drives.  (Yes,
  22. I realize that 1x drives now cost less than an Executor license,
  23. but so does a good Japanese meal, and I haven't splurged on one
  24. of those lately, either.)  Would it be possible, say two weeks
  25. _after_ the chaos of shipping the 2.0 CD subsides, for me and
  26. anyone else in the same boat to receive email (or "nymous FTP")
  27. copies over the net?  I don't want to hold up the works with a
  28. special request, but it may be months before I can get access to
  29. a net-connected CD-ROM, and so even if I have to wait weeks for
  30. someone at ARDI to have a few spare minutes, it still may be my
  31. best option.
