  9. I do not think that is true.  I think that helped them significantly
  10. in the beginning, but I think their Apps (on both platforms) is where
  11. the bulk of their income comes from.

  27. I disagree.  What QUIX did wasn't very hard, nor was it a new concept.
  28. Just like the people who have made Amigas run MacOS, they've taken the
  29. ROMs and System file for a PPC based machine and added some glue so a
  30. different PPC based machine can use them.  When we can afford to use
  31. dirty engineers, I don't think we'll have much trouble duplicating
  32. that type of work.  We already do much of the same stuff (and tons
  33. more beyond it) already.

  49. We don't know that the report is correct, and it's not clear whether
  50. the "new" Apple will or won't want MacOS on Intel.  One time in the
  51. past, Apple evaluated the possibility of putting MacOS on Intel and
  52. they came to the conclusion that 1) the only way it can be done
  53. efficiently is to do it in a source compatible way, not a binary
  54. compatible way and 2) the ISVs wouldn't do the ports.  It is much
  55. easier to remember the result than the reason for the result, so many
  56. people will think "tried that -- it didn't work" when they think about
  57. MacOS on Intel.
