- I am very happy that the vast majority of people contributing to
- comp.mac.emulators.misc are aware that Executor is a product that is
- easily misunderstood, and as such, very few people take what may
- appear to be negative comments personally.
-
- Because Executor doesn't yet run everything, it is tricky to mention
- it briefly without either listing so many limitations that it sounds
- like Executor is totally useless, or without listing too few
- limitations and having someone be disappointed when they find out it is
- missing a major feature, like QuickTime, for example.
-
- The question "Executor isn't useful for me, so what *is* it useful
- for" comes up often and on any other newsgroup could easily be
- mistaken as a personal attack and rapidly escalate into a flame war.
- I'm quite glad to see that this doesn't happen here, nor does the
- opposite: "Executor does everything that I want to do, therefore it's
- the perfect solution for everyone".
-
- Thank you ChessMan and all the other players for keeping up high
- signal-to-noise and hospitality-to-thoughtlessness ratios. We
- (meaning Melissa -- she's *that* good) will also be working on getting
- a mini-FAQ regularly posted which will also help keep everyone
- cordial, since it will allow the incredibly frequently asked questions
- to be answered automatically.
-
- Again, thanks.
