  3. I have written a BIOS patch for S3-based cards which sets the
  4. overscan color to ffh (instead of 0) whenever a VESA mode change
  5. occurs.  This should get rid of that annoying white border when
  6. using the VESA 2.0 display.  This is a 1k TSR.
  7.  
  8. LOAD IT AFTER YOU LOAD THE VESA 2.0 EXTENSIONS (it might not
  9. work otherwise).

  11. I have also placed on the FTP site a FREEWARE VESA 2.0 extension
  12. for S3 cards written by Dietmar Meschede.  This seems to work as
  13. well as UniVBE in Executor -- and it's FREE!

  23. This patch also works with ARK logic based cards.  Please let
  24. me know if you try this on another chipset and it works.

  26. I am still uncertain whether ffh is the correct overscan color
  27. -- it seems to work (it gets rid of the border, but if this
  28. should be another value, PLEASE let me know!
