  5. i guess i could have filed a bug report but this seemed easier.  my
  6. original plans for executor involved running Word 5.0a or 5.1 and
  7. Endnote Plus so i could write a paper on my linux box instead of on
  8. one of our macs.  it appears this idea is falling apart.
  9.  
  10. i don't know when this happened as far as executor development goes,
  11. but i'll get 1.99p9 or whatever the version before q was and try that
  12. too.

  14. i consider this a show stopper.  this is a serious program that many
  15. people use for managing bibliographies in conjunction with MS Word.

  17. here's what happens.  i double click on the Endnote Plus icon, after
  18. some time its splash screen comes up and then executor just locks.
  19. i've been writing this mesg while letting it try to start.  i have to
  20. kill executor to get rid of the window.

  22. this problem is present in both E/L SVGA (ELF) and plain E/L (ELF)
  23. under X.

  25. the odd thing is, the Endnote plus (2.0.1) module for Word works just
  26. fine.  this program is launched from within Word.

  28. i'll get the older versions of executor and determine if the trouble
  29. began before this or not.  i had deleted them as i'm actually
  30. beginning to run out of disk space on zifi.

  50. the libc is very new, as is libm.  everything else seems to work fine
  51. so i sort of doubt these are the problem.  if you think they are let
  52. me know.  i have older versions of the libs around.
