  15. No, what we would do is make a call-compatible MacTCP replacement that
  16. programs running under Executor could use.  It would rely on the
  17. underlying OS supplying TCP/IP services, so essentially the job is
  18. just writing "glue" (but very tricky glue).  Once we can afford to put
  19. an engineer on this task, I'd guess we'd see results in house within a
  20. month and something our most brave early adopters could start playing
  21. with in two months.  This is a rough guess, though.

  26. Adding serial port support is fairly similar -- more glue.  We would
  27. have included this in Executor 2, but we decided to work on getting
  28. more apps to run instead of getting more features that could be used
  29. by fewer apps.
