  4. Along the line of my "Linux Journal" article (issue 19, Nov 1995) I have 
  5. the following to say from the point of view of a 100% Linux user: Executor
  6. provides much needed functionality for Linux since one can run commercial
  7. productivity applications. Linux by itself does not provide stable Windows
  8. emulation yet (and we are waiting and waiting and ...). There have only a few
  9. commercial wordprocessors, spreadsheets, etc. been ported to Linux. So one
  10. reasonable alternative is to use executor and Mac-applications to bridge
  11. this gap. Also, Mac applications can he bought fairly cheap from Mac users.
  12. Bottomline, in the short term executor can help me to get some much needed 
  13. applications running under Linux.

  15. The future might look different though. Linux applications are emerging at a
  16. rapid pace at the moment. Also the Linux Windows emulator WINE does make
  17. steps forward and is expected to run major Windows applications (like
  18. AmiPro) in the not-too-far future. The usefullness of executor has to be
  19. re-evaluated at that stage of the game.
