  12. Usually, Linux drivers for new hardware come out quickly, because some
  13. hacker takes a driver for a similar device and modifies it as necessary.
  14. The reason there is still no Linux driver for the parallel Zip drive is
  15. because Linux has no driver for ANY parallel-port drive.  Those Backpack
  16. hard drives and tape drives don't work with Linux either.  I also don't
  17. know of one of these in development anywhere, but I'm sure somebody is
  18. working on one (probably more than one "somebody"), and when they get it
  19. working, then all those devices should be supported fairly quickly.
