-
- email bugs@ardi.com with this information:
-
- 1) what version of Executor you have
- 2) what software you are trying to run
- 3) where ARDI can get a copy of that software (if appropriate)
- 4) a detailed description of what happens
- 5) how we can reproduce the bug
-
- If the program crashes under DOS, the DOS traceback information is
- often useful.
-
- If it crashes under Linux and you know how to use gdb, getting a
- backtrace there can also be useful (there are no symbols in the
- distributed binary, but we can interpret the raw addresses over here).
-
- Bofore you send a bug report, see the FAQ entry "An application I'm
- trying crashes. What should I do?" for stuff you should try. Even
- if those suggestions are successful and you figure out a way to get
- the program to work, we'd still like to know what steps you had to
- take to avoid the badness. We can ship configuration files for
- particular apps so they work under Executor "right out of the box".
-
- Eventually www.ardi.com will have a nice interface to let you submit
- bug reports via the World Wide Web. I believe te unofficial ARDI
- pages on vorlon.mit.edu have a facility to do this.
-
- We're pretty busy so sometimes don't always respond to email to
- bugs@ardi.com. We do log the reports in our bug tracking database,
- however. Once melissa@ardi.com arrives in Albuquerque and starts
- handling tech support, we should have enough time to respond more
- consistently.
