  3. I just put "dos199o3.zip" and "linux199o3.tar.gz" in /pub/BleedingEdge
  4. on ftp.ardi.com.  The README in that directory warns that these
  5. binaries haven't yet been tested on top of virgin 1.99o installs, so I
  6. wouldn't recommend picking them up unless you are a real hardcore
  7. Executor fan.

  9. I'm still about a week behind in my e-mail, but I wanted to get
  10. something out that would allow people to play with NIH Image 1.58
  11. (including use of Plug-Ins), since there has been a lot of NIH Image
  12. interest of late.  Right now you need to specify "-system 7" on the
  13. command line to run NIH Image 1.58, and you can't yet put that in a
  14. configuration file (that will change soon).

  16. Tomorrow, I'll verify that these binaries do indeed work on top of
  17. virgin installations, and if so I'll get them mirrored to
  18. vorlon.mit.edu and ftp.cs.unm.edu.

  20. BTW, we're just starting to run WWW here at ARDI and hope to have
  21. *official* ARDI WWW pages in the next few weeks.

  23. Our list of "must do for 2.0" items still is not ready for public
  24. scrutiny, but the Ambrosia games "Apeiron" and "Cyclone" fall in the
  25. category of "look like they won't require much work, so will be
  26. supported for 2.0".  (The apeiron installer works under 1.99o3).

  28. BTW, 1.99o2 wasn't named 1.99o2 and wasn't available to the public.
