- This is a symptom of problems with the system file. What's happening
- is that there is font selection code that knows that if all else
- fails, the system font is always present and can be used. However, if
- the System file is in a bad state, this is no longer true. We
- *should* have a test for this very early in Executor's startup so that
- a polite message can be printed, and we *will* have such a thing
- before 2.0 ships (better error messages are the next large set of mods
- that we'll be introducing to Executor).
-
- However, if this is from a virgin installation, I'm not really sure
- what could be going wrong. The system file should be installed
- automatically. 1.99n had a bug that caused the system file to get
- messed up if you ran Desktop Textures, changed the background and then
- did anything that caused a crash. However, that has been fixed in
- 1.99o. If you're not running 1.99o, try that.
-
- You don't mention where you get Executor from, but the "canonical"
- location is ftp.ardi.com:/pub/Executor_DOS.
-
- If this still doesn't help, you can send e-mail directly to
- "bugs@ardi.com" and we'll try to figure out what the problem is.
