- ftp.ardi.com:/pub/BleedingEdge and
- ftp.cs.unm.edu:/pub/ardi/BleedingEdge both contain linux199n5.tar.gz
- and dos199n5.zip. The file readme.9n5 explains what those two files
- contain. It's short enough that it's included below. I don't know
- when vorlon.mit.edu will mirror these files.

-
- Installation instructions (assumes standard destinations):
-
- DOS:
- Replace C:\executor\executor.exe (i.e. in the directory in which you
- installed 1.99n -- you must have installed 1.99n first) with the
- executor.exe that is in dos199n5.zip.
-
- Linux:
-
- Replace /usr/local/bin/executor with the executor that is in
- linux199n5.tar.gz. You must have previously installed 1.99n.
-
- Run Executor, and check the lower left of the screen to be sure it says
- "1.99n5"
-
- These are the improvements that 1.99n5 *should* have over stock 1.99n:
-
-
- ======== Both ========
-
- Using Cmd-Shift-5 to change the screen depth should no longer be ugly
-
- BBEdit Lite 3.0's preference panel should work
-
- PostScript created is much more correct
-
- n5 Cmd-Shift-3 will create a .tif screen dump
-
- n5 You can increase applzone up to 16 MB now
-
- ======== DOS Only ========
-
- Should run under OS/2
-
- Cursor shouldn't "paint screen"
-
- n5 Macintosh formatted CD-ROM drives up through Z: should work
-
- n5 CD-ROM and Network filesystems through Z: should work
-
- n5 Floppy formatting about 4 times faster on some systems
-
- ======== Linux Only ========
-
- Should allow you to descend into mounted filesystems properly
-
- Shouldn't consume all of virtual memory
-
- n5 You should no longer need the "-invertedcursorbug" switch
