- I already answered this once, but I think my reply never made it out
- because emacs ran out of memory after marking it replied to even
- though it hadn't actually been sent yet.

-
- At least a year away.
-
- Dan> <===Port Access===> Port access would be nice
-
- Will be added soon after 2.0 ships, but we won't delay 2.0 for it.
-

-
- Same as serial port access.
-
- Dan> <===Color Apple====> Not needed, but would look nice.
-
- Done internally, but you won't see it for legal reasons. On the other
- hand, we may be able to make it so users can install whatever they
- want to go there.
-
- Dan> <===INITs and CDEVs====> Required. Many programs want to

-
- Won't be in 2.0. When we look into the System 7 drop-in feature we'll
- get a better idea of when this stuff will be fully supported.
-
- Dan> <====Printing & RDEVs==> You should add the Chooser when

-
- We'll probably bundle GhostScript instead.
-
- Dan> <====MultiTasking======> Would be very nice. :)
-
- Not planned from within Executor, except that it will come free with
- System 7 drop-in. On the other hand, if you're running a robust
- multi-tasking OS, you'll already have multitasking (NEXTSTEP and Linux
- do this well, for instance).
-
- Dan> <====QuickTime Support======> QuickTime is native to the
- Dan> Mac. It just wouldn't feel right with

-
- Same as Multitasking.
-
- Dan> That is just some of it. I would also like to know if, and
- Dan> when you plan on implimenting those features. Also, will you
- Dan> have a version for
- Dan> Win95?
-
- We'll evaluate a lot of "OS"s as potential candidates for OS specific
- ports after 2.0 ships. Win '95 is a VERY likely candidate.
-
- Dan> And what is System 7 Spoofer? I've heard of spooler, but not
- Dan> spoofer.
-
- Spoofing is when you don't actually do something you've been asked to
- do, but pretend that you've done it so that the calling program can't
- tell the difference. As it relates to System 7, we plan to make
- Executo pretend that it is running System 7, although only some of
- System 7 will be implemented.
-
- Dan> And, what are the features to be implimented in Executor by
- Dan> version 2.00, and what are the errors that are most on your

-
- I've already listed what will be in 1.99n.
- Here are some things that won't be in 1.99n, but will be in 2.0:
-
- nicer error messages
- depth setting through cmd-shift-5
- system 7 spoofing:
- system 7 filesystem calls
- apple events
- system 7 standard file package mods
- installable gestalt stuff (for Arashi)
- fast blitter fully enabled
- a few misc. color traps
- color picker
- NEXTSTEP port
- Deferred Task Manager spoofing
-
- maybe more I can't think of
