- Tim,
-
- THANX VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!! Now that I know to only download those
- .HQX files I have successfully downloaded something, and when I loaded the
- BinHex program, only the file type part was a corrupted string and not the
- creator part. However, the creator part _WAS_ still a garbled text string.
- <sigh> So, I went back to DOS and used the MS-DOS type command to look at
- the file, and discovered that it scrolled up instead of running straight
- across like it is supposed to. :) (yes, it is supposed to run across the
- screen even on an MS-DOS machine, I know this because I encoded a EXECUTOR
- file from within executor and checked it <G>)
-
- Ok, so now that I know exactly what the problem is, how can I change it to
- proper line termination if a am using an MS-DOS machine?
-
- Thanks, again. This MAC stuff is actually quite fun (if a little
- frustrating <G>).

- BTW- When I start downloading from FTP sites, should I use ASCII mode with
- these .HQX files or BINARY? From what I've heard here I should use
- ASCII, but I wanna make sure, before I go off and fight Midnet into
- sending me some uncorrupted data. <G>
