- Hi Folks,
-
- Right now I have three things to do before I'm ready to roll 1.99m
- (Cotton, Mat and Bill have all completed their tasks):
-
- PR #934 (browser) creating a directory in DOS filesystem has problems
-
- PR #901 Tex-Edit created execout.ps doesn't print
-
- PR #972 Checking for disk with a full hotband causes crash
- Bill couldn't reproduce this on the mac. He used 5 offline volumes.
-
- The first one is tricky, because it only happens under Executor/DOS,
- but I prefer to debug under Executor/Linux. The last one may be
- tricky too, since it is probably a bug in Bill's code, but he can't
- reproduce it on a Mac, so it's in my hands now. Offhand, I'd guess
- these three bugs will take me about a day to fix, and putting together
- Linux and DOS versions of 1.99m will take me another day.
-
- We'll want to test these versions fairly well, especially since 1.99l
- had so many bugs, so the earliest you can expect them to be released
- would probably be Sunday.
-
- There's a chance that our new 16-bpp and 32-bpp code will also be
- included in 1.99m, and we're hoping for a newer version of cwsdpmi
- that fixes a problem that occasionally occurs when you move the mouse
- while paging, but neither of those additions are guaranteed to be in
- 1.99m. Mat's fast blitter is definitely *not* in 1.99m, since Mat
- spent much time fixing many of 1.99l's bugs instead of working on the
- new blitter.
-
- In other news, MACup, the largest Macintosh magazine in Germany, just
- ran a story on us, and we're consequently getting a lot of German
- interest.
-
- If 1.99m really is as stable as it appears to be, we'll start ramping
- up the ARDI propaganda machine by sending disks to various editors
- worldwide and making the demo available from major on-line service
- providers.
-
- As always, thanks for your interest.
