  9. ftp.cs.unm.edu:/pub/ardi/Executor_DOS contains two files: exldisk1.zip
  10. and exldisk2.zip.  If you take these files over in binary and then
  11. unzip their contents onto separate floppies, you'll have a two floppy
  12. installation disk set that will install Executor/DOS 1.99l.

  14. Alternatively, you can unzip their contents onto your hard drive and
  15. install directly from there (this feature was not present in 1.99k).

  20. I will download 1.99l as soon as I can, but 1.99k still gives me an error
  21. mesage when running DNA Strider that the restriction enzyme library must be
  22. in text file format (it is already, so the message is not useful).  1.99k is
  23. also very slow on my 386DX/25 with 5 MB RAM.  Also, I did install it from my
  24. hardisk... no floppies involved.  Anyone else find this possible with "k"?

  26. Overall, it's much more stable than previous versions, so I think it's
  27. getting there.  And my personal (though perhaps not popular) opinion on the
  28. Apple logo, etc. is:  the priorities are stable, compatible and fast (i.e.
  29. useful) first, and leave the cute stuff for later (not that those things
  30. wouldn't be nice, but I want to keep my job first).
