  3. ftp.cs.unm.edu:/pub/ardi/Executor_DOS contains two files: exldisk1.zip
  4. and exldisk2.zip.  If you take these files over in binary and then
  5. unzip their contents onto separate floppies, you'll have a two floppy
  6. installation disk set that will install Executor/DOS 1.99l.
  7.  
  8. Alternatively, you can unzip their contents onto your hard drive and
  9. install directly from there (this feature was not present in 1.99k).

  11. However, we haven't done very much testing of the complete 1.99l
  12. package because we ran into so many snags putting it together.  We've
  13. tested all the snags and we've done a bunch of testing before all the
  14. files were frozen as "l", but there's a lot of room for mistakes.  If
  15. we didn't know that we already have a bug in our DPMI provider, we'd
  16. have shaken 1.99l out more thoroughly and then sent it to CompuServe,
  17. AOL, various magazines, etc.

  19. Alas, we were not able to fix the DPMI provider bug, so 1.99l is still
  20. not acceptable to distribute as widely as we'd like.  We are also
  21. exploring problems with mouse drivers, which may or may not be the
  22. same bug.

  24. BTW, ftp.ardi.com also carries exldisk[12].zip, but its connection to
  25. the net is *SLOW*, so I recommend ftp.cs.unm.edu:/pub/ardi.

  27. Executor/Linux 1.99l is probably a day or two away.  Everything is
  28. ready to be packaged up and sent out, but I need to get some sleep,
  29. and an important person is flying in this evening and it's not clear
  30. how much development we can do while he's here.
