  1. Hi Folks,

  3. I've been sick off and on for the last six weeks.  I haven't mentioned
  4. it too much, because it always looked like I was improving (kind of
  5. like one of those Escher staircases that allow you to think you're
  6. climbing up forever).  It looks like I had flu which then got into my
  7. lungs and stayed there.  I haven't run a fever since Tuesday, so I
  8. think that once more I'm on the mend.

  10. Anyway, I got way behind in my e-mail (which is why
  11. "questions@ardi.com" is a better address when it's appropriate) and am
  12. finally "almost" caught up.  I believe I've responded to all e-mail
  13. that has been sent my way up to two weeks ago (everything I've
  14. received up to January 15).  If you've sent something before that and
  15. haven't received an acceptable reply, feel free to send it again.  If
  16. you sent something after that time, or you're not totally sure when
  17. you sent it, you might want to wait until Monday to see if I reply.  I
  18. hope to be caught up with e-mail by Monday.

  20. In other news, we're aware that 1.99h has some severe compatibility
  21. problems with some graphics cards.  We should be able to get anything
  22. that used to work prior to 1.99f to work again in 1.99i.  I think it's
  23. now very rare that Executor/DOS will totally lock up your machine,
  24. although it's much more frequent that Executor will start ignoring
  25. mouse clicks and key presses altogether.  We've also received a bunch
  26. of useful comments about our file browser.  Mat is working on fixing
  27. the bugs described above.  After I finish answering e-mail, I'll be
  28. collating a list of everything that we have to do
  29. (i.e. "showstoppers") and everything that we want to do ("wishlist")
  30. for 2.0 along with a projected time table.

  32. Although 1.99h has some exceedingly rough edges, we're actually fairly
  33. close to having all the fundamental/structural changes to Executor
  34. made that are needed for 2.0.  We still have a few more features to
  35. add and a bunch of bug-fixes, but once Bill, Cotton, Mat and I are all
  36. working full-time again (there has been a lot of sickness and vacation
  37. time in the last couple of months), we should be able to make
  38. tremendous progress.  Vaune too has been a little under the weather,
  39. we're looking forward to her being back in full health, since she is
  40. the person most responsible for keeping things running smoothly over
  41. here.
