  1. This directory contains a small assortment of Macintosh software.
  2.  
  3. The file "maccdrom.hfv" is an HFV file.  HFV files are virtual
  4. macintosh volumes (disk drives).  From DOS's perspective each HFV is a
  5. single file, but Executor knows how to store Macintosh files and
  6. folders within HFV files.  Executor is programmed to automatically
  7. mount maccdrom.hfv the same way that Executor will mount a Macintosh
  8. formatted CD-ROM.

  10. The software in maccdrom.hfv is of one of three categories:
  11.  
  12.     freeware -- software that you can run without being expected
  13.             to pay a fee
  14.  
  15.     demoware -- limited functionality software that you can use to
  16.             evaluate whether or not you want to buy the
  17.             full-featured version
  18.  and
  19.  
  20.     shareware -- software whose copyright and licensing conditions
  21.              allow you to use for a short evaluation period
  22.              on the condition that you pay the author a fee if
  23.              you continue to use it after the evaluation period.

  25. The three subdirectories: freeware, demoware and shareware provide
  26. alternate ways of accessing the software that is contained in
  27. maccdrom.hfv.  Each of the those three subdirectories contain software
  28. in "HQX" format.

  30. ARDI has *NOT* paid the shareware fees for the shareware that is on
  31. this CD-ROM (in the shareware section of maccdrom.hfv and in the
  32. shareware subdirectory).  You are expected to read the documentation
  33. for the shareware included on this CD-ROM and satisfy the shareware
  34. terms if you continue to use the shareware.  You do not need to pay
  35. anything to use the freeware or demoware.
