  27. I was so taken by executor that I have just ordered a copy for 
  28. my home system :)

  30. I've just installed Word 5.1 in my evaluation copy (E-DOS)
  31. here at work, and it seems to work very well, so I know I bought well.

  33. However the target platform I am running on at home will be linux.

  35. I tried the Linux X version but it appears to be much slower than the DOS 
  36. one - I have 52Mb of RAM under Linux, but only 256kb of cache.

  38. Will upgrading the cache improve performance much with E-linux?

  40. Also, will running Executor in mono speed it up as well?
  41. How do I set it to mono?

  43. The way I use it is to display the pseudo-mac on my SPARC X-console,
  44. this seems to work well - and there seems to be no performance difference
  45. using it either on the Linux X console or on the SPARC via X protocol.
  46. I don't wish to run X servers on Linux as it is meant to be a file 
  47. server, not a workstation...

  49. When I displayed executor on a PC X server (MSDOS), however, performance 
  50. dropped quite a bit.  Why would this be?

  52. All my displays on Linux and the PC X server are 8 bit (generic SVGA), 
  53. and on the SPARC as a cg3...

  55. of course I did not bother to try spawning multiple sessions, because 
  56. linux won't handle it, but I would like to speed up video performance.

  59. Finally, is there a list of applications known to run on executor?
