- I don't know but I would imagine that IBM microelectronics license would
- be quite restrictive (in usual Apple fashion). I don't believe it would
- extend to x86 possibilities, PPC processor purchase exclusion, etc.
-
- Going through IBM for a MacOS license for Ardi could offend Apple and
- cause other trouble. However, it's quite possible that IBM could pressure
- Apple to take a look at Ardi's work. They weren't successful in getting
- Apple to bless the PPC PReP port but this could be a whole other thing.
- But would Apple want to go head-to-head with Microsoft on the x86 desktop?
- Perhaps IBM could presuade inclusion of Macintosh emulation in their
- non-DOS desktop OS's OS/2 & AIX. Apple's Macintosh market would increase
- certainly & it wouldn't be any worse that Win31 emulation on RISC
- (SoftWindows / NT). Trouble is, IBM Microelectronics has a nasty habit of
- ignoring or detesting IBM's own OS's.
-
- All in all, it's worth a shot. Good luck!
