  16. Despite the similarity in names, the late MagicSac cartridge and the 
  17. current MagiCMac ST-emulation software are unrelated.

  19. MagicSac was a cartridge for the Atari ST that emulated a Mac+ (so long 
  20. as you provided the Mac ROMS).  It evolved into the much-improved 
  21. Spectre:GCR, which worked with the Mac OS up through System 6.0 (I 
  22. think).  It was produced by David Small's firm Gadgets by Small, now 
  23. defunct.

  25. MagicMac is a software ST emulator that runs on current Macs.  It's based 
  26. on the MagiC operating system for the Atari ST.  I have no experience 
  27. with it myself, but from the very active discussion of it on 
  28. comp.sys.atari.st, I'd say it seems to work pretty well. (There WERE, 
  29. however, problems with the demo that was available for awhile.)
