- It got there.

- The tmp HFV is used by programs (like "Smaller Installer" which is
- used by Maelstrom, for instance) that need temporary space. I
- wouldn't recommend nuking it.
-
- Right now there's a bug that prevents you from creating HFV files
- larger than 120 MB or so. So that sort of encourages you to split
- things up. Splitting things up is probably a good idea anyway because
- if an HFV is corrupted you can potentially lose access to everything
- in it -- backup your HFVs!

- Sounds like you don't have "Word Commands" in the proper place. Word
- the application should be in a folder that contains a "Word Commands"
- folder. The "Word Commands" folder should have a lot of files in it,
- like (many of these are optional):
-
- Custom Dictionary
- Drop Cap
- EPS-TIFF-PICT
- Equation Editor
- Equation Editor Help
- Excel Converter
- Find File
- Grammar
- MS Word Conversion Options
- MacWrite II Converter
- Mail
- Microsoft Graph (a folder)
- Microsoft Movie PIM
- Picture
- Spelling
- Symbol
- Text Annotation
- Thesaurus
- Toolbar
- U.S. English Dictionary
- U.S. English Grammar
- U.S. English Hyphenation
- U.S. English Thesaurus
- Voice Annotation
- Windows Metafile Converter
- Word 5 Command Help
- Word 5 Help
- Word for MS-DOS 5.x
- Word for Windows 1
- Word for Windows 2
- WordPerfect for MS-DOS 5.x

- Chris> Note:when I turn on system 7 word gives
- Chris> me an 'unimplemented' something or other and won't start so
- Chris> I've gotta leave it in 6.04 mode. :( Is this usual?
-
- Yeah, it's usual. When Word detects System 7 it uses traps that we
- have no documentation on.
-
- Chris> Finally: The fonts folder is a system 7 thing isn't it? So
- Chris> if I'm in 6.04 mode where do the fonts go. If I'm wrong
- Chris> about the folder, why can't my apps see em?
-
- No, that folder is confusing. To install fonts, drag them into the
- hot-band. Ignore the "Fonts" folder in the System Folder.
