- I downloaded the Beta0 demo this morning... very nice splash screen, and the
- Browser was quite nice looking too.
-
- I noticed that it seemed to run a little slower than E/D 1.99q12, so I
- decided to run Speedometer on both... the rating for Beta0 was higher than
- that of q12, despite that fact that it seemed slower (14.something versus
- 11.something for CPU for instance.) Also, at the same time, though, the
- hands on the stopwatch were going around about twice as fast as I'd ever
- seen them before.
-
- I remember someone (I think it was Mat) wondering if, when everything sped
- up in Executor/DOS 1.99q11, it might have just been Speedometer giving higher
- ratings (a bug in the timer.) I wanted to point this out in case this has
- happened with Beta0, since the ratings say it's faster, but it seems slower,
- than the previous BleedingEdge release.
-
- On another note, I read the About Executor shpeel and noticed all the
- functionality that will be cut out of the demo version, as well as the 10
- minute time limit. I think this is a good idea... anyone with above average
- computing skills can kill a timer, but it's not quite so easy to put in
- missing code.
