- Maybe I'm doing something that is not optimal, but my results with E/D q12
- are mixed.
-
- Compatibility is great, all the programs (admittedly I don't run many Mac
- programs) I need run without crashes.
-
- Speed under DOS is definitely improved. To my eye, speed under Warp is as
- good or better than 1.99p9 also, but Speedometer says differently:
-
- On my ancient 386DX25 with 20 MB RAM, 13 ms access time HD, Hercules
- Dynamite ISA with 2 MB video DRAM...
-
- 1.99p6 DOS PR rating = 0.236 (Speedometer didn't run under Warp)
- 1.99p9 DOS = 0.311
- 1.99p9 Warp = 2.163
- 1.99q12 DOS = 1.197
- 1.99q12 Warp = 1.063
-
- It's still fast (considering my system), and I can't really notice a
- slowdown when running apps, but Speedometer says it's slower than p9,
- comparing best conditions with best conditions.
-
- One improvement I've noticed under Warp is that the -info switch now is able
- to detect DPMI memory amounts. It was "Unable to determine DPMI free
- memory" under with p9 under Warp.
-
- By the way, the Browser keeps looking better and better.
-
- Fantastic work, folks!
