  30. Our goal is to split so that one team continues to implement more of
  31. System 7 natively and another team adjusts Executor so that System 7.5
  32. can be dropped on top of it.  There are some tricky legal issues
  33. involved and it costs a lot of money so we can't do the split until
  34. Executor 2 is shipping.

  45. Actually, for its first several years Insignia's products *couldn't*
  46. support enhanced mode on the 386.  Their product that does support
  47. that is less than a year on the market and although Insignia's
  48. software is much more compatible with the apps that run under it, it's
  49. also *significantly* slower than Executor.

  59. Mat Hostetter has already done much of the work that is necessary to
  60. do PPC emulation.  We are indeed planning on supporting that in the
  61. future.  There will be a performance hit, of course, but part of the
  62. genius of Mat's new synthetic CPU is that we'll be able to target
  63. other architectures as well, so a real cranking Alpha may be able to
  64. emulate a PPC at a pretty impressive rate.  We won't have actual
  65. numbers for a few more months, though.
