- Hi all. I just thought i'd let everyone know that i got Visual
- Works 2.0 by ParcPlace to install and run.
- Some comments:
- Set the applzone to at least 8MB otherwise the installer doesn't work
- properly.
- Set the system version to 7 otherwise the installer doesn't work
- properly.
- When installing, don't select full install. Instead, install each
- piece of the package individually. I don't remember if i had to do this
- or not, but you may need to install one piece and then quit the
- installation process and start it again. Then again, you may not.
- After you've installed the package, buy more RAM and a faster
- CPU. While it did run on my system (Linux/X, Linux/SVGAlib) it didn't
- run happily. I've got 16MB of RAM and a 486DX50 and to do anything the
- program would swap and take it's sweat time doing it too.
- You also need to set the system version to 7 and the applzone to at
- least 8MB (it wants 12MB) in order for the installed package to run.
- I don't know if v2.5 works or not, i don't have the money to spend
- on it.
- I'm assuming that it will install off of floppies, though i don't
- know because i copied the floppies to disk images and installed the
- package with all the disk volumes visible the Executor.
-
- Well, do what you will with this info.
- Peace...
