  13.     Hi all.  I just thought i'd let everyone know that i got Visual 
  14. Works 2.0 by ParcPlace to install and run.
  15.     Some comments:
  16.     Set the applzone to at least 8MB otherwise the installer doesn't work 
  17. properly.
  18.     Set the system version to 7 otherwise the installer doesn't work 
  19. properly.
  20.     When installing, don't select full install.  Instead, install each 
  21. piece of the package individually.  I don't remember if i had to do this 
  22. or not, but you may need to install one piece and then quit the 
  23. installation process and start it again.  Then again, you may not.
  24.     After you've installed the package, buy more RAM and a faster 
  25. CPU.  While it did run on my system (Linux/X, Linux/SVGAlib) it didn't 
  26. run happily.  I've got 16MB of RAM and a 486DX50 and to do anything the 
  27. program would swap and take it's sweat time doing it too.
  28.     You also need to set the system version to 7 and the applzone to at 
  29. least 8MB (it wants 12MB) in order for the installed package to run.
  30.     I don't know if v2.5 works or not, i don't have the money to spend 
  31. on it.
  32.     I'm assuming that it will install off of floppies, though i don't 
  33. know because i copied the floppies to disk images and installed the 
  34. package with all the disk volumes visible the Executor.
