- Under Linux this is done by some intelligent printing filters (APS-Filter).
- The format of all printjobs (ascii, ps, some picture-formats) is recognized
- and automatically converted to postscript. If your printer does not understand
- postscript, then ghostscript does the conversation. All this is done in the
- background.

- Under OS/2 you can start a program (I have forgotten the name of it) that
- pipes printjobs to ghostscript. The program is connected to a nonexisting
- printer port like LPT3. All you have to do is to print to a postscript-
- driver installed to LPT3. This also works under WinOS/2.

- I don't know how to do backgroung printing to ghostscript under original
- Micro$oft Win 3.x/95/NT operating systems.
