When you mount a drive under NEXTSTEP, it checks through a set sequence to determine what all it is. CD-ROM is something like the second or third thing. HFX is the last, I would presume because it is being added to the end of the list, as it were. So, if you mount a Mac CD-ROM while Executor is running, it will be loaded under NEXTSTEP, which cannot always see all the files on Mac CD-ROMs, and thinks everything is a text file, even if it is an application. I've solved some of this by rebooting with Daydream, transfering the necessary executables to a SyQuest cartridge, rebooting NS, starting Executor, and then iserting the SyQuest cartridge, which is then seen by Executor.
