  3. I just downloaded the Executor demos for Linux and Dos a few days ago, 
  4. and I must say I'm impressed!  I've always been a bit of a Mac wannabe, 
  5. but have never had the cash to support both Mac and IBM-clones... :)
  6.  
  7. I've got a bit of a burning question though.  I have a Mac portable hard 
  8. drive (a Joule 1080 MB), and have put an old (bios-less Trantor T128) 
  9. SCSI card in my system (a P90 running Win95 and Linux).  I'd like to get 
  10. Executor to read and run programs off my portable HD.  It says this is 
  11. possible in the docs, but so far I haven't had any success.  Under Win 
  12. 95, the problem seems to be that Windows doesn't even recognize the SCSI 
  13. card, so of course, it doesn't see the HD.  Under Linux (I'm more 
  14. hopeful about getting things going under Linux, really), I've got SCSI 
  15. support built into a 1.3.30 kernel, and Linux does indeed see the SCSI 
  16. card, but Executor doesn't read the drive.  I've tried setting the 
  17. MacVolumes env. varialbe to "/dev/sda", and running as both root and as 
  18. a user.  No luck.  Then I tried setting /dev/sda to mount user,noauto 
  19. (like it says in the FAQ) and then setting the env. variable.  This time 
  20. I noticed the HD light blink _once_ when Executor first started up.  No 
  21. luck in finding the drive, however.

  23. If anyone could help, I'd be really appreciative.  If this works at all, 
  24. I plan to register immediately.  You have no idea how hard I've been 
  25. looking for a Mac emulator/file converter...It's great to see something 
  26. like this make so much progress!

  52.     Could someone from ardi answer this?  I read in this group that
  53. the new beta (2.0) was going to be available in both a demo form and as a
  54. full working version.  The version on ftp.ardi.com is still 1.99qX.  When
  55. will the new version be publicly available?  I hope that it isn't going to  
  56. be available only to registered users.  I haven't purchased it yet because
  57. it doesn't run enough programs yet to justify the cost.  I was hoping the 
  58. new version would change that.  Thanks.
